Pro vs Company — Which WireWrite NZ Plan?

Side-by-side comparison for solo electricians vs teams

Quick answer: if you're a solo electrician, choose Pro. If you employ other electricians who'll issue certificates under your business name, choose Company. You can switch later — see the bottom of this page.

Individual Pro

$6/month

or $72/year · GST included

30-day free trial

For solo electricians working under their own EWRB registration.

  • Unlimited certificates
  • All calculators
  • Digital signature + PIN
  • PDF download & email to client
  • Saved client list (your own)
  • EWRB expiry warnings
  • No team members
  • No company logo on certificates

Which should I pick?

Pro is right for you if…

  • You work alone or as a sole trader
  • You sign every certificate yourself, under your own EWRB licence
  • You don't need a separate inbox or admin to manage things

Company is right for you if…

  • You employ other electricians who issue certificates under your business name
  • You want one company logo applied to everyone's certificates
  • You want to share a client list across the team
  • You want one consolidated invoice for the business

Edge case: two electricians at the same business

If you have one other electrician and you both sign your own work, you can technically run two solo Pro accounts. But you'll pay for two subscriptions ($12.00/month) instead of two Company seats ($10.00/month + GST), and you lose shared clients and company branding. Company is almost always the right answer for 2+ electricians at the same firm.

Can I switch later?

Pro → Company (upgrade)

Yes. From Settings, cancel your Pro subscription and sign up for Company. Your certificates and client list stay with you. If you need help migrating, email support — we'll port your client list into the company shared list so your team sees it from day one.

Company → Pro (downgrade)

Yes, but you'll lose company branding and shared clients. Any team-member accounts you've invited become individual Pro trials. Email support before you do this so we can talk through what happens to in-flight invoices and which certificates stay with whom.

Both plans start with a free trial — no card required.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Pro and Company on WireWrite?

Pro is for solo electricians ($6/month, 30-day free trial, GST included). Company is for electrical contractors employing other electricians who issue certificates under the business name ($5/seat/month, 30-day free trial, +GST). Company adds team invitations, a shared client database, company logo on every certificate, role-based permissions, manager dashboard, and one consolidated invoice.

If we have 2 electricians at the same firm, should we buy two Pro accounts or two Company seats?

Almost always two Company seats. Two Pro accounts cost $12/month and you lose shared clients, company branding and the manager dashboard. Two Company seats cost $10/month +GST and unlock all the team features. Even at 2 electricians the maths and the workflow both favour Company.

Can I switch from Pro to Company later?

Yes. From Settings, cancel your Pro subscription and sign up for Company. Your certificates and client list stay with you. If you need help migrating, email support@wirewrite.co.nz — we'll port your client list into the company shared list so your team sees it from day one.

Can I downgrade from Company to Pro?

Yes, but you'll lose company branding and shared clients. Any team-member accounts you've invited become individual Pro trials. Email support before you do this so we can talk through what happens to in-flight invoices and which certificates stay with whom.

Is there a free tier?

No. WireWrite has a 30-day free trial on both Pro and Company — no card required, full feature access — but after the trial a paid subscription is required to keep issuing certificates. Existing certificates remain accessible after a subscription lapses; you just can't sign and issue new ones.

How does seat billing work on Company?

Each electrician on the team takes one seat. When you invite a new team member their account auto-adjusts your Stripe subscription to add one more seat at $5/month +GST. When you remove someone, the seat is freed and the next invoice line is reduced. One consolidated invoice covers the whole team.
